Tony Macedo, whose father played for Real Madrid and the Spain national side, was born in Gibraltar but won 10 caps for England Under-23s, and was unfortunate never to represent the senior side.
A brave goalkeeper who was aggressive in claiming crosses, Macedo was capable of the most spectacular and acrobatic saves, making him a real crowd pleaser at Craven Cottage.
After keeping a clean sheet on his debut in a 5-0 win at Bristol City in December 1957, Macedo never looked back, helping Fulham win promotion to the top flight the following season, where we remained for nine years.
In that time, we also reached two FA Cup Semi-Finals, with Macedo playing every single game in the competition in both 1958 and 1962.
Macedo departed Fulham at the end of the 1967/68 campaign with 391 matches to his name, putting him 18th on our all-time appearances list.
