Fulham’s positive pre-season run continued with a 4-0 win over Queens Park Rangers.
Goals from Jay Stansfield, Connor McAvoy and Jean-Pierre Tiehi secured the victory, which puts the side in a good place as they approach their EFL Trophy tie on Tuesday.
Fulham, like in previous games, came out of the traps quick. Stansfield picked up the ball outside the box and his powerful strike fired just wide of the post. Warning signs for QPR within a couple of minutes.
The hosts grew into the game though, with sustained periods of possession and a few good long-range efforts that just missed the target.
On 11 minutes, a long ball split the QPR defence and Ollie O’Neill found himself through on goal. Pressure from a defender pushed him slightly wider and his effort rolled into the side netting.
The young Whites opened the scoring on 27 minutes with a simple goal. Adrion Pajaziti swung in a cross and Stansfield found himself unmarked before heading the ball past the goalkeeper.
The biggest chance for QPR came in the 40th minute. A nicely worked move, starting on the right-hand side, led to a one-on-one but the effort was straight at Luca Ashby-Hammond, who comfortably dealt with it.
We doubled our lead shortly before the break, which came in a similar style to the first. Pajaziti curled in from a corner and McAvoy rose highest to nod the ball in.
The home team continued to push for a way back into the game after the break. Ashby-Hammond was forced into making a handful of smart saves, one from close range.
The game was put to bed in the 67th minute courtesy of Tiehi. The ball fell kindly to the striker after a scramble from a corner, and he calmly converted to put the visitors out of reach.
An own goal put Fulham 4-0 up in the final seconds of the game. An effort from a corner bounced off the post and into the 'keeper before rolling over the line.
