Tom Cairney expects Birmingham City to try and make things as uncomfortable for Fulham as possible, but is backing his side to continue their strong form.

The Whites hit 13 goals in their two Championship games last week, while we also defeated Blues 2-0 and 4-1 at St Andrew’s at the start of the season.

“They’re going to be looking to make it awkward for us and cagey when they come here on Tuesday night,” Cairney stated.

“But we’ve beaten them twice already this season and, on our patch, we can beat anyone on our day, so we’ve got to be looking to get three points.”

Saturday’s emphatic win over Bristol City was our first outing at Craven Cottage in more than a month after the Boxing Day clash with Tuesday’s opponents was postponed.

And with the frustration that came with a hat-trick of cancelled fixtures, Cairney admitted that it’s good to have a double header in front of the Fulham Faithful.

“It’s nice,” he said. “We wanted to play straight after that Sheffield United game because it was a frustrating night all round.

“But we had a long lay-off, we’ve come back with the right mindset, and it’s great to be back at the Cottage.”
