Bio
Luke joined us from Jersey; a place Malcolm Elias had a rich history of plucking players from. He’s one of a few who have come from that island, dating all the way back to Marlon Fossey.
He trialled at the Academy for a number of years, while negotiations took place between us and PL/EFL/FA regarding his eligibility, being domiciled on the Channel Islands. He was finally able to register with us on 13/06/2019.
Luke enjoyed a fantastic first season for the Under-18s, despite the fact he was aged just 15 for the majority of the campaign, registering eight goals and three assists.
He was one of the brightest performers during the 2021/22 season, and quickly jumped up to the Under-23s having shone at the level below. He seemed to make fairly light work of that level also, scoring 13 goals in 17 league appearances.
The youngster played in our First Team pre-season game against Villarreal at the start of the 2022/23 season before making a further five appearances for Marco Silva's side across three competitions.
A couple of loan spells in League One over the last couple of seasons have aided Luke’s development. The 20-year-old spent the second half of the 2023/24 season on loan at Exeter City, and while he only spent a few months in Devon, he made a big impression, scoring four goals in 19 starts.
Last season, Luke more than played his part in a Birmingham City side that smashed records on its way to the League One title. He played 36 times as Blues accumulated an incredible 111 points and reached the Vertu Trophy Final.
