Bio

Jay Stansfield was one of the external scholars signed from Exeter City in August 2019.

The forward possesses an excellent touch and can feature as a striker or the number ten position. He marked his first appearance for Fulham with a goal in the season opener against Spurs U18s and a further four goals came against Norwich, Reading and Leicester.

After amassing an impressive 23 goals in the first half of the 19/20 season, he earned his First-Team debut in the FA Cup third round with a 2-1 win over Aston Villa.

A serious ankle injury kept Jay out for much of the 2020/21 campaign, but he was still able to make a positive impact for Steve Wigley's side upon his return. The last of his eight league goals proved to be the most important, with his neat finish giving Fulham the opener in their title-winning match against Chelsea.

Stanno was hugely effective for our Under-23s throughout the 2021/22 season and impressed when called up to the First Team, scoring a beauty to give us a win over Birmingham City in the Carabao Cup.

Jay made an emotional loan move to Exeter City at the beginning of the 2022/23 season where he wore the number nine shirt famously worn by his late father, who was adored by the Exeter faithful. He made 40 appearances across four competitons, scoring nine goals and grabbing eight assists in the process.

He ended his loan spell in style, scoring a hat-trick in his last game for the club before returning to Fulham.
